Storyboarding is a critical, but often neglected, step when developing online learning resources. While it's tempting to skip it because you have a tight deadline, or think "it's just a quick, little course/video", or because you're not quite sure how to build one, diving headfirst into development without one can lead to costly and frustrating delays later.

In this session, we'll discuss when storyboards are needed and take a look at a few eLearning and video storyboarding templates in various formats.

Presenter: Meghan Cox is a Sr. Instructional Designer at IDEXX Laboratories and Program Coordinator for the ATD Vermont chapter. For the past 15 years, she has developed eLearning courses and videos as a full time employee and freelance ID. She has worked with companies in healthcare, finance, and marketing to build learning programs for onboarding, performance management, coaching and feedback, software readiness, and laboratory sciences. Having worked as both a solo end-to-end developer, and as part of larger learning teams, she has utilized storyboards in many different ways to plan and develop online learning for internal and external customers.

What is a SIG?

A Special Interest Group (SIG) a 60 minute facilitated conversation focused on a specific topic where participants come to reflect, learn, and share with one another. SIGs represent one of the many ways to grow professionally and personally, to network, learn new trends and industry directions, and to take useful information back to your organization.
