Do you want to take a more active role in the Vermont ATD Community?  Our chapter thrives with a variety of contributors who enable us to offer a number of opportunities for our members to engage with each other, as well as grow professionally.

The following positions are elected by membership each year

President-elect

Position Title

Chapter President-Elect / President / Past-President

Position Summary

  • Plan and lead chapter board meetings each month

  • Assign and/or handle various chapter administrative tasks to assure chapter maintains sound fiscal and operational practices

  • Confirm CARE assignments and tasks remain on track for each calendar year

  • Confirm board members are enabled to successfully perform their roles

  • Liaise with ATD CRM and NAC on behalf of the chapter

  • Attend monthly NAC meetings

  • Provide guidance and support on best practices on chapter activities and tasks


Time Commitment each month with tasks to accomplish

Term: 3 years (one year in each role: President Elect – President – Past President) 

Estimated time per month:

  • Plan monthly chapter meetings and work assignments (60-90 minutes)

  • Lead monthly board meetings 90 minutes (plus travel when needed)

  • Attend monthly NAC meeting (60 minutes)

  • Various other tasks as requested / attending chapter activities (60-120 minutes)


Secretary

Position Summary

  • Document activities and assignments that occur during chapter board meetings and post a summary to the google drive for other board members and interested chapter members to review each month.

  • Assist with various administrative tasks as needed such as contacting resources and vendors as needed (such as requesting an insurance quote)

  • Attend monthly NAC meetings monthly

  • Participate in executive committee activities as needed


Time Commitment each month with tasks to accomplish

Term: 2 years

Estimated time per month:

  • Attend board meetings 90 minutes (plus travel when needed)

  • Documenting meeting minutes & posting to google drive (90 minutes)

  • Various other tasks as requested / attending chapter activities (60-120 minutes)


The following positions are appointed by the Chapter President

Social Media Champion Volunteer (reporting into Membership VP)

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Manages Vermont ATD  social media accounts and posts content.

  • Brainstorms campaign ideas.

  • Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

  • Analyzes analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.

  • Understands the overall concept of Vermont ATD, including the brand, members, organization goals.

  • Engages with members and/or potential members and works alongside VP of membership and other board members.

  • Provide suggestions to management for improving member experience on social platforms.

  • Learns and becomes proficient on Wild Apricot our CRM.

Time investment: Approximately 6 hours a month

Quarterly Newsletter Creator Volunteer (reporting into the President)

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Gathers, edits and creates content for the Vermont ATD  Quarterly Newsletter

  • Brainstorms ideas with board functional leads for content

  • Analyzes analytics to gauge content usage and appeal

  • Provide suggestions to management for improving member experience.

  • Learns and becomes proficient on Wild Apricot our CRM.

Time investment:  Approximately 6-8 hours a quarter

Newsletter Skills:

  • Writing and editing for online articles

  • Verbal communication 

  • Organization

  • Professionalism 

  • Member focus

    Governance Documentation Organizer (reporting into the President)

    Volunteer Responsibilities:

    • Organizes the Vermont ATD  governance document required by ATD

    • Annually evaluates documents for currency, and identifies items requiring updates

    • Leads the effort on updates.

    • Provide suggestions to management for improving governance documents

    • Learns and becomes proficient on Google Docs / G-suite

    Time investment:  Approximately 4 hours a month
