Did you know that for over 30 years, the Vermont Training Program (VTP) has partnered with employers of all sizes and training providers to prepare Vermont's employees for the jobs of tomorrow? VTP provides performance-based workforce grants for pre-employment training, training for new hires, and training for incumbent workers.

Join us as Jessica Redmond, Learning & Development Manager for Rhino Foods shares her experience and advice applying for Vermont Training Program (VTP) Grants.

Jessica will share her experience applying for the VTP, application timelines, a breakdown of the grant application eligibility requirements, examples of the tools she used, and will answer your questions.

A Sample Toolkit will be provided to help get you started.

Presenter Bio: 

Meet Jessica, the Learning and Development Manager at Rhino Foods, a leading producer of ice cream inclusions based in Burlington, VT. With 30 years of experience, Jessica designs learning strategies and initiatives that foster a culture of growth, helping employees succeed both professionally and personally.

Jessica’s career began in the aerospace industry, but she spent 18 years as a mathematics educator and leader in public and independent schools. She believes in the potential of every individual to learn and contribute, and her mission is to empower leaders to build motivated, high-performing teams.

At Rhino, Jessica is excited to bring her learner-centered approach to an employee-focused environment, driving a culture of continuous learning and development.

In her spare time, she enjoys attending her children’s school events, gardening, and training for endurance races.

The Vermont Training Program is a flexible, nimble, and strategic workforce development program that enhances the skills of the Vermont workforce and increases productivity of Vermont employers.  VTP aims to:

  • Assist with funding employee training projects related to the development and production of new and innovative products, equipment, technologies, market opportunities, or processes that will lead to significant advances in innovation and/or productivity.
  • Use funds to supplement, not replace, existing training efforts
  • Assist with training new employees and existing employees to encourage to aid in retention
  • Assist with training in transferable skills
  • Encourage wage increases for employees
  • Collaborate with other state Agencies and Departments to align efforts and funding
  • Align training resources to the Vermont Statewide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)
