Do you need an efficient and outcome driven way to create corporate learning experiences?
Delivery outcomes can tend to get mis-directed by being either too complex, too large, too simple, have too many stakeholders, or those with little interest involved.
Methodologies and principles have been developed to help us in designing more effective learning experiences, but they can be complex and easy to forget—even for formally trained, professional learning developers.
What is the Performance-First approach to learning?
The Performance-First approach is a framework for developing adult learning experiences within an enterprise environment that utilizes the principles of adult learning to meet specified, measurable goals set by the organization.
In the corporate environment, the learning process must be optimized to get the most return for time spent. Performance-First approach changes the goals of “Learning for Knowledge-sake” to “Learning for Performance-sake.”
Improvement in performance is the top priority for the time and money invested—nothing else. With this approach, learning objectives, content, and assessment are aligned to achieve the level of performance needed to get a result, which benefits the learner, learning developer and other stakeholders.
Ken Stockman of IBM Consulting will lead us through usign and implementing the Performance-First Approach and related tools (GReat ASKs).
What is a SIG?
A Special Interest Group (SIG) a 60 minute facilitated conversation focused on a specific topic where participants come to reflect, learn, and share with one another. SIGs represent one of the many ways to grow professionally and personally, to network, learn new trends and industry directions, and to take useful information back to your organization.
