Lunch-and-Learn: DEI Strategy Session with Dr. Kathy Obear

Kathy Obear has been working on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs, initiatives and trainings for 35 years. She will be joining our ATD chapter on Feb. 7th to talk about her work, and co-create a future Train-the-trainer program for our members. 

This working lunch-and-learn is a rare opportunity to meet this impactful thought leader and cultural change-maker in a small group setting. Together we will identify DEI topics, themes and challenges for local and national and global organizations. Dr. Kathy will then work with our team to curate a future training based on our unique interests. 

We scheduled this DEI Strategy Session based on needs expressed within our membership - the need for a training on how to teach and coach leaders and employees on DEI topics in a productive format. Bring your thoughts and experiences as we participate in a working group discussion around what this training could look like.

In the past 35 years, Dr. Kathy Obear has led train the trainer development programs for DEI facilitators in corporate, K-12, and higher education organizations. Her virtual self-paced course, Design & Facilitate Powerful Workshops on Equity, Inclusion & Social Justice, provides comprehensive, foundational concepts, tools, skills, and training activities to develop DEI sessions for leaders and employees.

What is a lunch-and-learn?

A 60-minute session that takes place during lunch time. Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch while the presenter shares their expertise on a particular topic. Time will be provided at the end of the session for questions.
