Sara Holloway

President Elect (2019 - Present)
What is your “Real” job position?
I own Holloway Learning and Development, a Vermont-based business that offers coaching, training and team-building services.

How many years have you worked in the learning/development realm? 20+ years

How did you first get into the learning and development world?
Way back in 1985 when I was a Senior in high school, I was in charge of our school-wide assemblies. I set the curriculum for the year, brought in guest speakers, and facilitated important conversations among students and teachers. Little did I know that decades later, after majoring in French and then playing various roles in operations and human resources, I would end up back in my happy place again – the wonderful world of learning and development!

What’s a favorite quote that gives you inspiration and keeps you going?
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more.  If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” - Oprah Winfrey

What is the must-have book or resource sitting on your desk right now?
Daring Greatly – How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way we Live, Love, Parent, and Lead by Brene Brown

Where can we find you when you’re not working?
During the Winter months I teach adults how to ski at Smugglers Notch Resort. I am lucky to coach a six-week program that encourages women of all ages and abilities to get out and enjoy the slopes.  It is so gratifying to give other women this freedom and playfulness in their lives!
